Flush Steam Connection

(FS Connection)
The FS Connection is specifically Designed for use with Continous Heavy Oil Production (CHOP)
What is CHOP?
CHOP is a method of applying recycled steam downhole to promote and allow continuous production of heavy oil.
CHOP Advantages
  • Continuous Oil Production.
  • Minimize consumption of water (Reclaim injected steam water as it is returned to surface with the continuous oil production).
  • Reduced Steam Generating Cost (Reduce energy cost through elimination of heating previously injected water)
  • Immediate Cash Flow – Immediate crude production at the beginning of steam injection.
  • Substantially improved drilling economics compared to Steam Assisted Gravity Drainage (SAGD) method (Requires only one well for injection and production while SAGD requires the drilling and tubular cost two wells, one for injection and the second for production).
FS Connection Advantages
  • Custom designed to address the expanding and possible contraction conditions produced by the CHOP method.
  • Interlocking Thread Form (prevents pin and box separation during expansion and possible contraction of pipe and connection during continuous steam injection process.
  • Intermediate Seal (prevents internal and external leakage during expansion and contraction)
  • Wedge Thread Design (Provides higher torque capability than traditional flush connections that reduce the possibility of the connection separation during expansion and contraction)
  • Flush OD (Smaller OD than a coupled connection allowing providing more area in the outer pipe ID for production).
  • No “J” Area (Increases steam flow with lower turbulence)
  • Stabbing (deep stabbing without cross threading)
  • Fast Makeup (3 turns that includes 2-1/2 free running turns)
